“How much will my move cost?” is the question we get asked most. The honest answer is that it depends on how much you’re moving and how long it takes. This guide shows exactly how we price local moves on the Gold Coast, with worked examples, so you can budget before you call.
Our rates
Safepack rates (+ GST): 2 movers & truck $160/hr weekdays, $170 Saturday, $200 Sunday. 3 movers & truck $220 / $240 / $280. 3-hour minimum.
Every local move is charged by the hour. The rate covers the crew, our own truck, blankets and trolleys. We don’t subcontract, so the people you speak to on the phone are the people who turn up.
Why we charge by the hour
Hourly pricing is fair when the rates are shown up front and the removalist gives you an honest estimate of hours before moving day. That’s how we work. You pay for the time your move actually takes, not a padded fixed price.
Worked examples
These are simple maths on our weekday rates, so you can see how the total adds up. How many hours your move takes is something we estimate with you on the call.
- 3 hours, 2 movers (weekday): 3 × $160 = $480 + GST. This is the minimum booking.
- 5 hours, 2 movers (weekday): 5 × $160 = $800 + GST
- 5 hours, 3 movers (weekday): 5 × $220 = $1,100 + GST
- 5 hours, 2 movers (Saturday): 5 × $170 = $850 + GST
What changes the number of hours
- How much you’re moving. More furniture and boxes means more loading time.
- Access at both ends. Stairs, lifts, long walks from the truck to the door and loading-dock bookings all add time.
- Being packed and ready. Boxes packed, sealed and labelled before we arrive keeps the clock down. See our 10 things to do before the removalists arrive.
- Heavy or awkward items. Pianos, safes and very large furniture need extra care. Mention them when you send your request.
- The day. Saturday and Sunday rates are higher (see above).

- Packing service: priced on the call, depending on what you’d like packed.
- Boxes and packing supplies: prices are shown in our box shop and include GST.
- Storage in Robina: 3 × 3 m $300, 3 × 4.5 m $400 and 3 × 6 m $600 per month + GST.
- Bond cleaning: priced on the call.
- Interstate moves: priced on the call.
